FLORENCE, 1981

The Florence Charter for Historic Gardens and Landscapes

The Florence Charter, was developed by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) as an addendum to the 1964 Venice Charter on 15 December 1982.

The significance of the charter lies in the fact that extended and improved the Venice Charter guidelines for the preservation and enhancement of heritage to historic gardens and cultural landscapes in a range of sizes, alongside historically important monuments and sites.
